Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Evaluate the glass and glazing work requirements
  • Identify glass and glazing job requirements from the client’s brief and specialist technical specifications
  • Record the job requirements according to workplace procedures
  • Determine the technical feasibility of the job requirements and the applicable standards and codes of practice
       
Element: Determine application of glass and glazing standards
  • Identify products and/or types of glass potentially suitable for job requirements
  • Determine technical specifications of potentially suitable products and/or types of glass from suppliers and other sources
  • Assess potentially suitable products for conformance to applicable standards and codes of practice
  • Identify any need for specialist technical advice and organise to obtain it according to workplace procedures
  • Develop an optimal solution that meets job requirements and conforms to applicable standards and codes of practice
  • Communicate installation instructions to clients, building professionals and other relevant parties to enable installation to comply with applicable standards and codes of practice
  • Prepare detailed documentation for the solution according to workplace procedures
  • Identify and develop documentation required by external personnel based on the scope of the project
  • Distribute documentation to internal and external personnel within required timeframes

Assessment Tasks

Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.
